Showcase! aka. some of my favourites and you should totally check them out

VA-11 HALL-A By sukeban games.

Genre: Visual Novel, Point and Click | Game link: steam
  • Cyberpunk Bartender Action!! You play as Jill who works as a bartender, and make drinks for the colourful characters that come to the bar
  • The game focuses on storylines involving regular customers that progress each time they come to the bar. The drinks you make don't affect the dialogue that much (some do but not a lot), if you want that you should check out Red Strings Club
  • This game stars robots, catgirls, talking corgis, ghosts and more! I love love the characters a lot!!! They are all very cute and quirky, and have their own story to tell. Tbh I like them all so much but my favourites are probably Stella and Sei in terms of how much I adore them
  • Also everyone is gay
  • This game has a special place in my heart. Whenever I have a quarter life crisis or something I always remember a certain scene from this game
  • There is a lot of interesting discussions and conversations around artificial intelligence, technology, capitalism etc etc (it is cyberpunk after all). *Warning for mature + NSFW conversations!!
  • The pixel art is gorgeous, with visuals inspired by old PC-98 Japanese adventure games
  • The music by Garoad is pretty awesome too, puts me in a chill, funky mood
  • I need to mention that im obsessed with a ship - Jill/Alma. It's not in anyway canon since Alma is straight but let me have fun please. I'm probably the sole person making fanart for them so IF YOU LIKE THEM TOO PLEASE TALK TO ME

  • A delightful game about a kid going on an errand on their own for the first time!
  • I honestly did not expect to enjoy this game as much as I did but it's now probably one of my favourite indie games i've played :)
  • I would have enjoyed more of just the shopping quests in the beginning on its own but there is a whole lot more to explore!
  • It's super wholesome and cozy, the graphics are super cute and it's a lot of fun to explore the areas! I also adoreee the little cats that are just all over the place i will protect them with my life

  • Very similar to Va-11 Hall-A, but instead you work at a late night cafe in an urban fantasy setting! Like the aforementioned game, it largely focuses on stories surrounding the characters and their problems
  • It is very cozy and perfect to play on a rainy day! There is a lo-fi hip-hop cafe kind of vibe :)
  • There are fantasy races like elves, werewolves, vampires, orcs etc and I love how they did the worldbuilding! They explore a lot of issues / cultural differences surrounding them too
  • They also touch on various real world topics (with a fantasy setting) which can be relatable

  • So I took 3 years to finish this game....
  • Largely because I started it on pc but i no longer had a controller and then restarted it on switch with life getting in the way now and then
  • It's a mix between side-scrolling fighting for hunting + tile-matching puzzle mechanic for the cooking! It actually works quite well and is very fun
  • It has a beautiful cell-shaded fluid animation style and cool fantasy foods!
  • Also in my humble, they should work with ryoko kui to make a dungeon meshi game because. fantasy food......

  • Wildlife exploration game!
  • You play as a little girl called Alba who goes around taking pictures of the wildlife and help the townsfolk along the way
  • The graphics are beautiful and you may or may not learn more about the local animals along the way!
  • The flying birds are really difficult to capture though. they are very speedy

  • It's very wholesome and the sprites and UI and characters are super cute and looks polished.
  • We spent a lot of time asking random questions about frogs and other creatures that feature in this game and getting distracted looking them up. Did you know that tarantulas can be right handed.

  • suuuper cute game but surprisingly DIFFICULT AS HELL ??
  • You try to find pups to pet at a party but you are under a time limit and the rooms are rng
  • Its kind of addicting bc you want to keep playing and get a better score each round but you are probably not getting better at it
  • still fun though! super cute graphics and dogs (and a cat)
  • congratulations to my friend who found all 52 pups you are a legend
