Summary: Mostly a lighthearted story about paranormal shenanigans involving two boys in a small seaside town. Mars is a ghost hunting fanatic and is determined to get evidence to prove that they are real. Dao on the other hand has always been able to see ghosts but keeps it a secret so he can tag along with Mars on ghost hunting adventures.
Setting:
A small seaside town in the SEAsian Countryside
Set sometime in the 2000s

Ghosts can appear to people at times. But Dao can see them all the time
In a nutshell:

A grumpy high schooler who is obsessed with ghosts. Wants to prove their existence because he thinks no one believes him (they do, theyre just scared of ghosts).
Angry, but honest and soft-hearted. Although can be really fussy and intense and scare people off

Does odd jobs to fund his ghost hunting activities
Popular with the grandpas and grandmas. they like to dote on him
Oldest brother of a big family. Kind of a mother hen

Backstory:
His father was a sailor who often took him out on fishing trips at night and taught him how to navigate with the stars
One day he disappeared on a trip and never came back. Dao saw a shadow in the ocean that night and believes that his disappearance may have to do with ghosts.
He has vague memories of the day he and Dao went to stargaze at night and thinks that Something hasnt been quite right since then. He is determined to investigate what happened.

Childhood friend who can secretly see ghosts. He has always gotten into trouble with the supernatural throughout his life. He was involved in a freak accident involving them a few years ago and....
a carefree, easygoing guy. is unserious and jokes around a lot. kind of lonely
Has ghost friends
Tells Mars about ghost sightings (source: trust me) so they can spend time together on ghost hunting trips
Has a terrible sense of fashion
Dao has a cat called Nom Yen that they found together. She is his lucky charm and adds a little warmth into his empty home

Backstory:
Mars is the one who accidentally got him into the *incident* but he doesn’t want Mars to feel guilty about it so decided not to tell him anything
Is kind of terrified and on edge all the time (even if he pretends not to be)
The places that he tries to bring Mars to are relatively safe, vetted by his ghost friends
But other times he is worried out of his mind. Sometimes loses it
